Why is my poker equity calculator greyed out?

Some poker site clients prevent the use of equity calculators when you have their poker client loaded, such as Pokerstars for example. So if the equity calculator is greyed out for you, it’s against your poker sites TOS (terms of service). When you close the poker client, the option to run equity calculations will be restored.
