There’s a few good options on the poker market today to meet your poker hud and database needs. This article is going to focus on the differences, both pro and con, between Drivehud vs. holdem manager 3.
Cost of ownership – DriveHUD vs Holdem Manager 3
DriveHUD by all measures is the more affordable option. If you’re on a budget, then DriveHUD is the no-brainer choice since it’s features compare closely to Holdem Manager 3 (HM3). We’ll look at 5 year cost of ownership for both products based on several different stake levels. DriveHUD offers 4 stake level purchase options, and HM3 offers 2. Both are subscription based models. Drivehud’s pricing is clear, HM3’s pricing could be seen as misleading. With HM3 you purchase a non-expiring license, but then in order to receive support and updates, you have to pay an additional yearly cost. Most sites issue updates or changes on a regular basis, some more than others. It’s safe to say that most sites you’ll have at least one update that will break something at least once a year. So you will realistically be paying a yearly fee to maintain a functioning holdem manager 3 hud.

Primary User Interface
The interface of a program largely needs to be easy to understand and intuitive. There’s some interfaces that are clearly really poorly designed, and some that you can just visually tell are very well thought out. In the case of large amounts of data, how you present that and make it easy to navigate can by tricky and sometimes a matter of personal preference. Holdem Manager 3 made some good advancements in comparison to it’s predecessor Holdem Manager 2. It’s still a little clunky, but not nearly how HM2 is. DriveHUD is very attractive to look at, and easy to get understand the data.
For absolute beginners, DriveHUD is the much easier interface to navigate and understand. For more advanced players, it becomes more of a personal preference. Both interfaces have some pro’s and con’s and you can’t go wrong with either one, once you understand how each of them functions.
